Facebook for business

I attended a half day Facebook workshop organised by the City of Glen Eira, which was presented by Alli Price from Motivating Mum.
This was a very popular workshop indeed, and every small business owner in the room was keen to learn more about Facebook and how it can help them with their particular business.  As I found it very relevant to our business, I thought I would share some of the insights covered.

Facebook is the most labour intensive of all social media. This is so, given the constant changing of the algorithms which in turn determines on whose newsfeed your posts appear on. With Facebook you need to work harder so that your likers can  actually see what you post.

Important elements in creating the right logo

When we think of brand identity design, you may ask yourself who needs it? The answer is – everyone form huge corporations to small businesses. If you think about yourself and your day from the moment you wake up in the morning , you are surrounded by logos on items such as your shampoo, toothpaste, perfumes, breakfast cereals, teas, drinks, and once you power on your computer the logo bombardment just continues. So there is no escaping it.

So why is all this branding so important?

Because people choose products based on a perceived value rather than its real value. So if you can get the branding right you are able to increase a products perceived value. Tips for a great web page

Accurate:

Make sure that what you are writing is true and that you will deliver what you promise. There is nothing worse than not being able to deliver what you have promised.

Short:

Ensure that your text is short but not too short. Make sure that the content that you provide gives readers what they want quickly, yet enough detail for those that want an elaboration.  Make sure that you don’t go off on a tangent, as readers quickly lose interest and will go elsewhere.

When starting out a business venture, a lot of businesses  have the question: Do i need a website?
